Weiroch Lodge is a magnificent 18th century mill conversion in the heart of rural Speyside in Scotland. Set in idyllic surroundings with spectacular views, Weiroch is ideal for walkers, whisky-lovers, salmon fishers, and for those wishing to explore the many attractions that Speyside has to offer. It is also the perfect retreat for those seeking to unwind and relax in a peaceful location.
Speyside (renowned for its whisky) is in picturesque Morayshire with its beautiful scenery and unspoilt beaches - National Geographic lists the Moray Firth amongst the top 10 coastal destinations in the world! This part of northeast Scotland is often referred to as Castle Country and is home to over 1000 castles or castle ruins. And the Cairngorms National Park with its rugged mountains and thousands of acres of unspoiled countryside is just a short drive from Weiroch.
Weiroch Lodge is situated between Grantown-on-Spey and Aberlour, and an hour from the cities of Inverness and Aberdeen. The local market towns all have a good variety of shops, inns and restaurants. If you’re visiting between May and September, you can enjoy watching the world famous Highland Games which take place across towns and villages all over the country. More than half of Scotland’s malt whisky distilleries are in Speyside, so what better place to join the Malt Whisky Trail and visit some distilleries.
There are many scenic walks straight from Weiroch, including access directly onto the Speyside Way. For hillwalkers, there are 49 Munros in the local area. There are also miles of tracks to suit mountain bikers of all abilities, including the little used tracks within the 800 acres of woodland adjacent to Weiroch. For the golfers, there are many excellent courses nearby. There are watersports opportunities including canoeing on the River Spey and, for the less energetic, dolphin watching boat trips at Inverness.
