One-Off Feature

Seaside apartment is a two bedroom apartment in the heart of the west coast harbour town of Oban in Scotland.  It has a superb position overlooking Oban Bay and the McCraigs tower, and is a short walk from all the facilities.  A central position for touring Argyll and a gateway to the islands, with the great outdoors on your doorstep, wildlife boat trips,  and the nearest beach just over a mile away.

General Info

Oban is a lively west coast harbour town and the apartment is within easy walking distance of the cafes, shops, galleries and restaurants.  There is a Costa cafe immediately below the apartment, and a delicatessen over the road.  Oban is the seafood capital of Scotland and the restaurants are excellent.  And of course, no visit to Oban would be complete without a tour of the famous distillery!

The Area Surrounding The Property / Accommodation

Oban is a bustling town full of seafood restaurants, curio shops and tea rooms, not to mention a cinema and a leisure centre. There are lovely walks from your front door, following the bay south past Oban’s Yacht club towards the Kerrera ferry and heading north through Oban and to Dunollie Castle. Onward you can head to Oban’s beach – Ganavan, or you can head north by car and explore Port Appin’s coastal area and Castle Stalker.  Take a boat trip to the castle on the Island of Kerrera, or you could catch a ferry to the neighbouring islands of Colonsay, Mull, Tiree, Lismore and Barra. Oban Seal Sanctuary is a must for all visitors or if you want to get active you can hire a bike and follow the cycle path towards Fort William.  With only an hour’s drive north you can visit Glencoe and Fort William and to the east is Inveraray complete with the truly magnificent castle and infamous Jail. The spectacular coastline offers pleasant walks along the esplanade at sunset with unspoilt views of the islands.

The ferry terminal and the bus and train stations are just a 2 minute walk from the apartment so this is also a good destination if you are wanting a car-free holiday. There are regular train services to Glasgow, from where you can fly onwards.

Interior Details
The apartment has two bedrooms and can sleep up to four people.  It’s fully fitted to a high standard and has beautiful views over Oban Bay and up to McCraig’s tower in the background.  There is one double bedroom with an en suite bathroom (shower, basin and WC), and one twin bedroom with a separate family bathroom (bath, shower head, basin and WC).  There’s a fully equipped kitchen including fridge, freezer, washing machine, microwave and dishwasher.  The large sitting room has a smart TV with freesat.  The apartment has wifi, and electric central heating.

The apartment has a private car parking space close to the apartment.

Conditions of Rental
25% deposit payable on booking.  Check in from 4pm, check out by 9.30am.  Linen and towels provided.
