One-Off Feature
This charming, hand-crafted shepherd’s hut is perfect for couples looking for a cosy getaway with the best of both coastal and country living right on your doorstep. Explore historic buildings along the Northumberland Heritage Coast, discover picturesque seaside towns and spend your days exploring some of the region’s stunning beaches.
With open countryside all around you, this delightful hut comes with romance and fun by the bucketload. Climb three steps and enter the welcoming open-plan living space where wood plays centre stage, and there's even a cosy wood burner for those cooler evenings. There is an electric kettle to make your morning cup of coffee, a fridge with an icebox and electric socket to charge your devices. You also have access to a well-appointed shared kitchen. Outside, relax in the private garden area with a wooden table and chairs where you can eat breakfast or enjoy a BBQ and evening drinks before some stargazing. Alternatively, head down to the wooden tepee with a warming firepit and chat with guests from the two other huts on the grounds. At the end of the day, take a refreshing rinse in the contemporary shower room, then snuggle up at night in the hut’s comfortable double bed.
Located in the small village of Lucker, a welcoming country pub is mere metres from your door, as is a luxurious salon and spa. Traditional seaside fun awaits on Bamburgh’s golden sands (4 miles), and the town is home to a number of independent shops, cafes, pubs and renowned restaurants too. No trip to Bamburgh would be complete without a visit to the famed castle, with the ocean providing a stunning backdrop to its imposing presence. Take a boat trip to see birdlife on the Farne Islands, watching for dolphins along the way, and don’t miss glorious Beadnell Bay (8 miles) for water sports, sand dunes, and views of Dunstanburgh Castle. Further afield, the 12 landscaped acres of Alnwick Gardens (13 miles) are home to the world’s largest Tai Haku cherry orchard as well as the world’s largest treehouse restaurant.
