The five bedrooms (one of which has a separate dressing room which can accommodate an additional two people) with lake views, Tudor windows and antique furnishings. One of the bedrooms was even used by King George V and Queen Mary in 1913! The living areas are spacious, there is a 16th century dining room, and guests have the option of self catering or booking a local catering service.
It’s ideally located for trips to a wide variety of local attractions such as Hampton Court, Polesdon Lacey, Loseley Park and even a night at the theatre at London’s West End. It is three miles from the market town of Guildford, and surrounded by beautiful countryside, walking trails, and numerous village pubs.
The first mention of Great Tangley Manor was in the Domesday Book in 1086 where it was described as a Royal Hunting Lodge, and alterations have been made over time, not least the inclusion of some of the timbers from the Armada fleet in the dining room panelling. The extensive Victorian grounds include a lake and beautiful gardens - Great Tangley Manor was recorded as being one of the most progressive gardens of the 1880s.
A great location if you're gathering people from afar - Guildford is less than 40 minutes from central London by train, and is 30 miles from both Heathrow and Gatwick airports.
