Dating back to 1836, Under the Oaks retains all the charm of a traditional Dutch farmhouse but it has been tastefully renovated and furnished to provide a spacious and comfortable home-from-home. The house has high ceilings, big windows, a private patio and all the amenities you could need for a relaxing stay. There are grocery stores, bars, restaurants and even an award-winning bakery within walking distance. And nearby there are museums, forests, bird sanctuaries, walking paths, cycle trails, fun parks and lots of opportunities for discovering the beauty and history of the Drenthe, Overijssel and Friesland regions. Come and visit the real Netherlands.
The delightful village of Diever is home to bars, restaurants and shops, as well as a 14th century church and an award-winning bakery. The village is situated on the edge of Drents-Friese Wold (6100 hectares), one of the largest national parks of the Netherlands with 32 marked walks and numerous cycle paths, and the National Park Dwingelderveld (3692 hectares), is also nearby. And you can sail or fish at Giethoorn (the Venice of the north), visit the provincial capital of Assen (25 minutes away), or just while away the days picnicking, bathing, horse riding and learning more about the region’s rich heritage.
Getting There:
A car is recommended though not essential, with easy access to the towns of Hoogeveen (20 minutes), Assen (25 minutes), Emmen (45 minutes) and the city of Groningen (40 minutes). Diever is easily accessible by car in approximately 2 hours from the following airports in the Netherlands: Amsterdam Schiphol, Rotterdam and Eindhoven.

Interior Details
The house has a large main room with sofas, a TV and a DVD player, as well as a fully equipped kitchen and a dining area. There is one double bedroom on the ground floor and upstairs there are four twin bedrooms, as well as additional foldable beds and cots for children. There are separate WCs on both floors, and there is a cupboard full of toys, board games, puzzles and books.
Exterior Details
Outside there is a private patio with tables, chairs and parasols, and there is also a garden with a shared trampoline and a BBQ. There is ample parking.
Conditions of Rental
No smoking. Well behaved pets (up to two dogs) can be accommodated with prior notice and for an additional fee (£19 per pet per stay). There is an end of stay cleaning fee of £125. Prices are based on 10 people, it costs £24 per person per night for an 11th and 12th person. Check in time is 4pm and check out is 10am, but changeover days are flexible. A refundable security deposit of 300 euros per booking is required. Minimum stay is 7 nights.
