General Info

Set in a stunning elevated position, very central within ancient woodland privately set back from the village of Inverie you will enjoy the peace and quiet that comes with the privacy of our woodland yet close enough to be as social or as tucked away as you choose. 8 mins walk to the pier, beach and The Old Forge, mainland Britains remotest pub, (Guinness book of Records) with artisan reals ales, tradiotnal folk music sessions and local eateries. The house is south facing, so it enjoys hours of sunshine all year round. Knoydart House studio self contained en suite studio room is just for couples with its own entrance and exit. Share your views with only the deer, golden eagle and abundant birdlife while watching dolphin, porpoise, seal and otter in the loch. 

The Area Surrounding The Property / Accommodation

Watch otters at play and deer in the woods from the house decking in an ideal elevated position looking directly across the loch and out to the small isles. Catch the Jacobite Steam train made famous by the car chase with the little wizard of Hogwart from Mallaig for the day. Take a day trip on one of our many fast water taxis to the small isles of Eigg Rum and Canna or Green Island home of a large seal colony or visit Rum Castle. Go whale and dolphin watching, climb one of the three munros, go fishing, kayaking, e-biking, walking or birdwatching for sea-eagles, ring lplovers, herons and more.  Book a rangers guided walk, take romantic shore strolls or picnic wild on loch Nevis, go fungi foraging in the woods beside the house or curl up with a book after a long soak in the hot tub under the stars. If your lucky you may catch a glimpse of our stunning auroras, or spot the m,ilky way twinking high above. End your day with a nightcap in the local award winning hostelry, The Old Forge, mainland Britain`s remotest pub or you can dine out at local seafood restaurant, pottery tearoom and café or local eateries.

Getting There & Local Amenities

Getting There:
Knoydart offers a unique Scottish experience being remote, with boat access only and Google maps would have us believe you could drive in - but you can`t! There are a number of excellent connections that can take you here directly. All trains to Fort William and Mallaig go via Glasgow train station. By car, follow the famous A830 `Road to the Isles` one hours drive from Fort William. Cars are parked safely in Mallaig and the 25min all year round fery sevice doubles up as our mail boat, supply boat, ferry and school run for the school children. Ferries run several tmes a day all year round across a sheltered sealoch. We meet all guests off the ferry so no need to carry anything and pets very welcome.

The studio room has a romantic canopy bed with a superking double or can be configured into a twin on request. Underfloor heating throughout. Giant sunken large luxury outdoor hot tub with 84 jets and a constant 35 degrees Celcius, great after a day on the hill. For exclusive use of Knoydart House Studio Room guests only. Enjoy breakfast alfresco on our wraparound floodlit decking.

Further Details
Guests are personally met and collected on the pier by vehicle and driven the five minute walk to Knoydart house with all luggage. This service is also provided on departure. The local West Coast shellfish and seafood is exceptional and there are excellent fish merchants in Mallaig who can provide fresh langoustines, lobster, oysters, mussels, john dory, turbot, sea bass, monkfish, salmon or any combination of fresh locally caught fish to you during your stay by arrangement. There are several excellent boat operators locally who operate fast water taxi services to and from malaig (20 minute crossing in style and comfort). Guests may wish to charter a fast sea cruise and go island hopping to the Isle of Skye, or the small isles of Eig, Muck, Canna or Rhum alternatively go whale and dolphin watching for minke whales and the stunning orcas that grace our waters during the late summer months. The owners can arrange this for you during your stay. Knoydart House Studio Room lends itself to the perfect relax to walk, explore or simply do nothing. We can also arrange an in – house seafood platter to be delivered to you during your stay with a little notice.

Conditions of Rental
Knoydart House Studio Room is available for 2 night minimum stays if it includes a Fri or Sat night  and rates are inclusive of electricity, linen and towels. Your booking cannot be confirmed until receipt of deposit. Deposit is 25% of the booking and all bookings have Cancel Cover booking protection in the event you have to cancel between 60 days and up to 2 days prior to arrival giving you complete booking confidencein a stay at Knoydart House Studio Room. The balance of the rental charge is required 8 weeks prior to your arrival date.
