One-Off Feature
This is a truly unique waterside holiday cottage that's ideal for a honeymoon, minimoon or romantic escape. Standing on stilts on the bank of the river and tucked away in the ancient woodlands of the New Forest National Park, this property was once a yachtsman’s cabin, now a stylish and beautifully presented self-catering retreat with scenery straight out of The Wind in the Willows.

Holidays at this property are all about relaxing. It’s an all year destination, where the charm of the location changes with each season. In the spring and summer wake up to a cheerful dawn chorus, a thousand of shades of green and dine al fresco in the treetops. The autumn brings spectacular displays of colour, darting pheasants and deer in the grounds, with the low sun streaming through the living room. The winter months host our favourite views with the morning mists across the river and the shimmering light on the water at sunset.

On the doorstep are miles of open forest to explore. You can hire kayaks and paddle down river to the Solent or walk or cycle along the Solent Way to the old ship-building village of Buckler’s Hard, watching the landscape change from woodland to tidal river edge grassland to salt marsh. Or simply relax on the wraparound deck and take in the stunning views of the tidal Beaulieu River, a haven for spotting wildlife such as curlew, treecreepers and deer.

The entrance to this spectacular property is via a flight of external stairs that lead onto the gorgeous decking area that’s perfect for relaxing and drinking in the breathtaking scenery. There is a fully equipped kitchen with a dining area for entertaining that leads through to the stunning open plan living space with high vaulted ceilings and large glass doors that embrace the outdoors. A flame effect fire provides a central feature for those cosy nights in, or guests can simply open the doors and enjoy the birdsong from the comfort of the sofa.

The property has a cosy bedroom with a double bed and memory foam mattress and topper. Guests can enjoy peaceful nights in the 600 thread-count cotton sheets, before heading outside to the decking for breakfast in the fresh country air. There is a bathroom with a shower over bath, granite top vanity unit and separate WC.

On the ground floor there is a utility room with a washing machine and separate dryer, as well as plenty of storage for those muddy boots and bicycles.
