One-Off Feature
This charming, thatched cottage can be found on a quiet, no-through lane in the peaceful Dorset village of Chideock. Wandering further along this lane will bring you to a bridleway that leads to the beach at Seatown, so you can enjoy early morning walks to see the sunrise or evening strolls to see the sunset. It is an ideal place for families to enjoy quality time together in the surroundings of the Dorset Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and within walking distance of the World Heritage Jurassic Coast.
This wonderful cottage is packed with original features that are beautifully accentuated by light walls, traditional furniture and the odd contemporary touch. Downstairs, there is a good-sized lounge with its fireplace and wood burner to keep you warm of an evening. To the rear of the house is the elegant, but modest, well-equipped kitchen/diner, which offers access to the rear garden with its winding path, lawn and mature shrubs. Upstairs, the charm of original features continues, but the two bedrooms (one king-size and one twin) and family bathroom are still light, bright and airy.
The peaceful village of Chideock is close to the A35 offering easy access to the rest of West Dorset, from Lyme Regis to Weymouth. The World Heritage Jurassic Coast is nearby with access available at a number of places. 5 miles west is Charmouth, the popular fossil hunting beach, where you can hire hammers and goggles. Further west again is the seaside town of Lyme Regis with a range of independent shops and eateries as well as a family-friendly beach. Going east, the unique Chesil Beach is 18 miles away and only a few miles from the many attractions on offer in the seaside resort of Weymouth.
