This unique Canarian Fishermans cottage is frontline to the sea at Arrieta in Lanzarote. The cottage is located next to the slipway where local fishermen still launch their colourful painted boats. It has been restored to a very high standard and is a fantastic example of sustainable living, using solar power for all electricity.
This quaint cottage boasts features such as wooden floors and a Canarian balcony along with eco-friendly elements such as solar panels. The cottage is one of the original buildings in Arrieta village and is right next to the sea. The semi-detached property has been given a fishing theme with its furniture and decoration and there is even a fishing rod for those of you who would like to catch your own fish for supper! What more perfect setting could there be for a holiday in an eco cottage?
The nearest restaurants are in the same street as the cottage, just from 30 meters away and although they are nearby, it is not noisy. The restaurants are well known for their lunch service and most take last orders by 8pm. The supermarket is just a 2 minute walk and there is a lovely Spanish cafe just across from the cottage for you to get your morning coffee/cake.
Getting There:
The village of Arrieta is located on the North East coast of the island of Lanzarote. When arriving in Lanzarote by plane, the islands only airport is located in Arrecife. It is a 30 minute drive to the cottage, we can arrange a VIP airport pick up if required. You do not need a car when staying in Arrieta as you have restaurants,shops and the beach on your doorstep. A car is essential to visit the beautiful locations on the island. Flights to Lanzarote are available from Monarch, Thomsons, Thomas Cook, Easyjet, Jet2com and Ryanair.

Interior Details
The fitted kitchen is fully equipped with a fridge freezer, toaster, gas oven and hob and has a wooden dining table and chairs. The cosy living room is on the sea side of the property and has wonderful panoramic views across the ocean. This room also has a sofa bed. An external wooden staircase leads to the first floor of the property, which by design is open plan apart from a separate toilet room. The master suite, with its large king size bed, feels spacious, light and airy. There is also a sofa/single bed. The views from this suite are spectacular. Free Wifi.
Exterior Details
The cottage has a traditional Canarian courtyard. This is high walled and private. It has a pebble floor and a wooden staircase leading to the 1st floor. The courtyard of the property is ideal for al fresco dining, a perfect place to enjoy a candlelit meal and for entertaining.
Further Details
As is customary when you stay in an eco house, we encourage electric consumption awareness with our guests. The cottage is fitted with low energy light bulbs and we do not provide items with high consumption heating elements. If you do require use of a washing machine then please visit our near by Eco retreat Finca De Arrieta. There is a free washing machine of your to use and do take advantage of the pool, sun beds WIFI and other facilites available to you. If you require internet, there is a cafe directly in front of the cottage which has fixed computers. Arrieta village is famous for the fish restaurants, most of these are set on the sea front. They are very reasonably priced and you will be able to try the local food and cuisine. On Sunday lunchtime, the restaurants are full with local Canarian families meeting up for their fish platters and fantastic Lanzarote wines. One restaurant to try is Amanecer (Sunrise), just a minutes' walk from the cottage and real favourite. It is run by 4 brothers who provide both excellent service and food. The village also boasts a good number of restaurants and Tapas bars, cafes and a supermarket. The mountain village of Haria is a short drive away where there is a local craft market on Saturday mornings. The main beach at Arrieta is perfect for swimming, fishing and sometimes surfing. This beach has a great lunch Tapas bar and play park for children. There are also lovely beaches driving north up to Orzola where there are golden sand sea lagoons. From Orzola. there is a day passenger ferry which takes you over to the unspoilt island of La Graciosa. This island has not changed for centuries. There are a few 4x4 vehicles which can take you around the island or you are able to hire mountain bikes. There is a small fishing village where you can have a good local fish for lunch and sample the canarian potatos (Papas Arrugadas).
