The Sheriffs is a Grade II listed Queen Anne house offering luxurious and elegant accommodation on a beautiful country estate. Downton Abbey, eat your heart out!
In an isolated setting on the stunning Whittern estate you will find The Sheriffs, a historic property with large reception rooms, plentiful bedrooms and all the home comforts you could need for a family holiday, a weekend away with friends or a good old-fashioned knees up. Whatever the reason for your visit this is a fantastic rural retreat.
Beyond the private garden there are endless acres of fields, orchards and woodland for you to explore and there are four excellent walking trails that go round the farm, through the woods, over open countryside and connect with other foot paths (you can even walk to the pub). Within about a half hour drive you can play golf, try shooting, go canoeing and go-karting, cycle and horse ride, and nearby you will find Hay-on-Wye with its numerous book shops, the border towns of Kington and Presteigne and Ludlow with its renowned food markets and restaurants. In the area you will find gardens, houses, castles and farms, as well as an excellent selection of pubs and restaurants.
