General Info

The cottages and huts are surrounded by open farmland, meadow, forest & moors, with forest walks and cycling on your doorstep (maps, information sheets and safe cycle storage all provided).  There is a communal conservatory with a large selection of books, games and local information, as well as a washer dryer for guest use.  You’ll find so many good pubs in stunning locations within a 30 minute drive - dog friendly pubs, pubs with gardens, a pub with a mini brewery, pubs in pretty village settings, pubs backing straight on to the Moors, and pubs with takeaway options, as well as a selection of Indian, Italian, Chinese and Thai restaurants.

The Area Surrounding The Property / Accommodation

The North York Moors National Park, Ryedale and the Pickering area have masses to offer visitors, and you can explore the coastal resorts of Scarborough, Whitby and Filey which are all within a 30-45 minute drive.   Whatever your interests - wildlife, history, archaeology, gardens, landscapes; there’ll be something to interest you.  There are Cistercian Abbeys left over from their heyday in the 12th century, churches dating back to Viking times, and castle relics dotted around.  There is a wide range of historic houses open to the public, and plenty of museums within easy reach, as well as some of the most beautiful gardens in the UK.
