Historically important yet beautifully updated, Chateau de Bournand is the perfect destination for a restorative weekend in a quiet Loire Valley village. There are several guest rooms within the grounds and Chestnuts is one of these - a quaint two storey cottage with a distinct air of New England about it. The accommodation is chic and comfortable, the gardens are extensive and well-manicured and there are all manner of activities and culinary delights on offer. What more could you want?
The Chateau is set in the heart of the Loire Valley, not far from Saumur, Chinon and the Royal Abbey of Fontevraud. Close to home you can explore the grounds, visit the nearby village and its historic church and generally immerse yourself in simple French living, and further afield you can visit castles and caves, go wine tasting or enjoy the scenery from a hot air balloon. In the village (within walking distance) you will find a butcher, a baker, a grocer and a restaurant.

Interior Details
The cottage has two en-suite bedrooms – one large double and a room with four single beds – as well as a wooden-beamed living room, a kitchen, a pantry and a ground floor WC. All guest rooms are decorated with antique furniture from France and New York but are also equipped with hairdryers, bathrobes and WiFi.
Exterior Details
Chestnuts is located at the entrance to the castle and looks out over the grounds. Within the 9 acre gardens you will find a heated swimming pool with a pool house and solarium. Outdoor games like badminton, table tennis, boules, volleyball and croquet are provided.

Although the property is booked on a self catering basis, both breakfasts and dinners can be provided on request. A relaxed, sociable and top quality dining experience is essential and the owners take great pride in delivering this if you choose. Using traditional cooking methods, secret recipe books and home grown herbs, the chef at Chateau de Bournand can provide you with French-style breakfasts, seasonal dinners and excellent wines.
Conditions of Rental
Weekly rental runs from Saturday to Saturday and short breaks are available out of season. There is an additional rental property on site if you are with a larger group / need more space.
