The Princess Suite (family room) has one king size and two sets of twin beds (ie can sleep up to six people), with a luxury ensuite shower room.  The Prince Suite has a double bed and a single bed (can sleep up to three people) and a luxury ensuite bath / shower room.  The Petite Princess is a bedroom on the ground floor with two double beds (can sleep up to four people) with an adjacent cloakroom.  In addition there is a fold up bed available for an additional person. There is a grand reception room with an ancient fireplace and antique furniture.  The chateau kitchen has an Aga and farmhouse kitchen table.  The former chapel on the second floor is now a bar / games room with a pool table.

Exterior Details
The chateau is set in large gardens with an abundance of fruit and flowers and has it's own private river frontage where bathing is possible in season.  There is a high level terrace at the back of the chateau with wonderful countryside views. There is a lovely and large 12m x 6m swimming pool in the grounds.

Further Details
This 15th century castle, overlooking the Asse valley, was built to protect the local area. There was a climate of insecurity at that time, with Brigueil being on the border between Indre and Haute Vienne and the presence of marauding bands of brigands after the Hundred Years’ War. In 1494 Jean 1st de Mareuil was the owner of the castle. This lord’s coat of arms is engraved on a fireplace in the Donjon.  A font found at the site bears witness to there being a chapel at the castle, this font has been re-positioned in our elegant salon.

Conditions of Rental
The price includes exclusive use of the chateau and terrace, access to the bar and games room as well as the sky garden, kitchen garden, and river walks. Packed lunches and evening meals are available by arrangement.  A four course evening meal, including wine, is €34 per person.  'Posh picnics' are also available for €17 per person.

We stopped over in the 2 bed studio as part of a road trip through France. It was a great place for a relaxing for a few days. We had some meals out, some cooked by our host, and could have done our own BBQ. Although we did not stay in the Chateau itself, we could see that it would lend itself to a great house-party; one with a medieval theme would be great fun.”

I have stayed here twice. The chateau is set in beautiful countryside. The building is majestic and has a fascinating history that the owners will bring to life for you with their stories. The facilities are beautifully presented in tune with the building yet modern and comfortable. The surrounding areas are stuffed full of interesting places to visit so there is a lot to do. However , if you want calm and relaxation , then it is in abundance should you so choose. The owners are welcoming and knowledgeable about the local area and with the addition of a pool this summer this idyllic location will be my number one spot to stay in whilst in France.

Place is lovely. Really relaxing stay. We've been twice, once as a couple, the other with a large group.
The decor is really in keeping with the old atmosphere of the beautiful Chateau.
We did a quite lot locally. Some lovely lakes and rivers to swim in. Excellent restaurants and walks nearby.
Main thing though is the peace and quiet - you can really get away from everything here, and spend hours reading, relaxing, sipping wine etc. The owners also said they were putting in a pool this year, which will be an excellent addition.

A wonderful place to stay for the whole family, plenty to see and to do in local towns. Wonderful scenery combined with great food and drink can only make for a fantastic holiday retreat. Great history surrounding the buildings on site. The chateau boasts an impressive "games room" with a pool table and fridge for all your favourite drinks!

The hosts are impeccable and highly recommend the food cooked by Belinda.
