One-Off Feature

Set on top of a hill surrounded by pine and olive trees, Villa Nuba is an elegant country house 15 minutes walk from the beautiful town of Perugia which has been divided into three apartments.  Wake up to the sound of birds chirping, spend the day dipping into the saltwater pool and dine al fresco as the sun sets. Simply enchanting.

General Info

Once a historic farmhouse, Villa Nuba has been lovingly converted into three stylish and romantic apartments where you can escape from the stresses of everyday life and immerse yourself in complete rest and relaxation. The Pinturicchio residence, with its sensational panoramic terrace, is beautiful and peaceful, the shared gardens are perfect for enjoying a book or a siesta, the Umbrian countryside is quiet and unspoilt, and the historic and artistic attractions of Perugia are just a short walk away. Whether you’re a couple, a family or a group of friends, Villa Nuba would be an idyllic setting for a traditional Italian retreat.

The Area Surrounding The Property / Accommodation

Known for its cultural treasures, its prestigious university and its mouth-watering local delicacies and fine wines, Perugia is a beautiful cosmopolitan city with plenty to offer its visitors. There is a vibrant selection of bars, restaurants, cafes and clubs to explore, not to mention the shops, theatres, parks, museums and festivals. Or outside the city you can hike in the hills, discover a myriad of picture-perfect villages and visit the Adventure Park in Ponte Felcino, home to river canoeing, tree climbing and bike rides. And if you fancy a day trip then Perugia is perfectly located for visiting Assisi, Spoleto, Spello, Gubbio, Todi and Orvieto, or indeed the big cities of Florence, Rome, Siena and Pisa.

Getting There & Local Amenities

Getting There:
Travelling East on the SP327, join the E45 heading north to ‘Cesena’. Stay on the E45 and take the Ponte Felcino exit. Stay on the exit road as it sweeps left under the E45 and take a right turn onto Strada Molinella, a tree-lined dual carriage-way. After about 2km veer right onto a single-lane slip road, which sweeps counter clockwise up and over Strada Molinella.  Immediately take a right (signposted ‘Perugia’) onto Via Eugubina.  After about 4.5km (and after passing a yellow petrol/gas station on left), turn right where you are immediately faced with a triple fork in the road. If you pass a second petrol station on the left you have gone too far. Take the extreme left hand un-paved road and after a few hundred metres, take the ramp at the right hand edge of the road to arrive at the gates of Villa Nuba.

Further Info

Perugia is in the middle of the Italian region of Umbria so it's perfectly positioned for exploring central Italy which is where many of Italy's most famous towns and cities are situated, including Perugia, Assisi, Orvieto, Florence, Siena, Pisa and Rome.  Although the villa is in a rural hilltop setting, it is also just a 15 minute walk to the beautiful medieval town of Perugia with its shops and restaurants.  There's a local bus stop 150m from the villa, with the central bus station just 2km away.  Your nearest eatery is a great pizzeria just 250m from the villa.  The central train station is 3km away.  Lots of shops, markets and restaurants within a couple of hundred metres.  The owners are very happy to offer advice on places to go, things to visit, restaurants to try, food, wine, olive oil, medieval towns - you name it! They will also give you a Villa Nuba Gold Card which gives you preferential rates in some of the local restaurants, trattoria and shops.

We spent amazing 3 weeks at Villa Nuba as part of extended stay in Italy,it was one of the best experiences of any of our trips.Giuseppe is a wonderful
host, warm, enthusiastic about Perugia and Umbrian area.
We stayed in both Pinturicchio and Bonfigli and found both apartments very well-appointed,spacious, a joy to return to after a day busy with sightseeing (loved the Jacuzzi!).We especially enjoyed having wine on the terrace of Pinturicchio with the spectacular view. The kitchens of both apartments are well-equipped – we fixed several meals, enjoyed eating dinner under the gazebo next to the pool.In fact, the apartments are SO lovely and comfortable that we decided to relax at the Villa instead of sightseeing on several occasions.Perugia is a fantastic base for exploring Umbria.Giuseppe has great advice on places to explore. It’s the people we meet that add magic to travel and Giuseppe is the magic in Perugia!Thank You for a wonderful stay at Villa Nuba.

What a lovely place to go for a relaxing holiday. We spent a week here but could easily have stayed for weeks longer! The apartment itself was beautiful and equipped with more appliances and utensils than my own flat! The nearby supermarket and outdoor barbecue facilities at Villa Nuba were a fantastic way to enjoy locat food without having to go out. The weather was great while we were there and the salt water swimming pool was the perfect place to relax with a book and enjoy the sun. The location of Villa Nuba is brilliant - it is far enough out of the city centre to be quiet and calm yet Perugia is within easy reach as are many other Umbrian towns for day trips.

Giuseppe is very welcoming and even showed us the important bits about town on our arrival such as the supermarket, where to park and eat etc.

Definitely hope to go back at some point in the future - a great holiday location.

The appartment del Pinturicchio was great. Good size rooms and well equipped. It was clean and tidy. The villa has a great swimming pool and a nice playground with fences wich was great for our two kids. I would absolutely recommend this place to both families and others. The owners, Giuseppe and his family welcommed us and made sure that our stay was perfect. Within walking distance (5 - 10 minutes) you find a few restaruants, supermarkets and bakeries. The city center has shops and restaurants and some museums. The restaurants range from city food with a "hole in the wall" to Michellin quality. The price range is quite nice. Perugia is a calm and beautiful city and the surroundings include wineries and other ancient cities. But be sure to also enjoy the relaxing eco pool area at the Villa. With local wine, fresh bread from the bakery and excellent crude ham from the supermarket you have all you need for the perfect holliday.

We had an excellent holiday in Villa Nuba and were made very welcome by Giuseppe for whom nothing was too much trouble. He gave us a guided tour of the local area and advice on shopping, travel and good places to eat. The villa was stunning with all the facilities of a home.; a well equipped kitchen, comfortable bed and sparkling bathroom. There was ample parking on site and privacy from nearby properties. Overall, we felt like family friends rather than paying guests.
