One-Off Feature

An off grid retreat for two to three people set in 20 acres of private woodland in rural Devon.  Accessed by a 200 metre natural walk through the woods, it is secluded and peaceful, and surrounded by nature.  It’s a wonderful space for a romantic retreat, for artists and writers, and anyone who wants a digital detox getaway.

General Info

This is the ultimate in quirky accommodation experiences - it is a bespoke retreat made by a female artist; a wonderful showcase of sustainable living.  The water comes from rainwater barrels and there is springwater for drinking straight from a gravity fed borehole.  Simple solar power allows for basic lighting and charging of mobile phones.  The cabin has been created using almost entirely recycled materials.

The Area Surrounding The Property / Accommodation

For lovers and nature and the great outdoors, this is the place to be.  Dartmoor is 12 miles south and it’s 20 miles to the Devon beaches.  There’s a public right of way from the woodland to a nearby lake and lots of public footpaths through the countryside.  The nearby village of Hatherleigh has a supermarket, a pub, a pottery and a cafe and there are bus routes from here to other nearby places such as Okehampton, Bude and Exeter.
