General Info

This collection of woodland retreats is set in 20 acres of private woodland and meadow in a hidden valley in the North Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty on the Harland Peninsula, a short walk to Hartland village & Quay.  Two treehouses and a converted cowshed make up the luxury glamping offerings, each perfectly suited to romantic retreats and family breaks, and all dog friendly.  The site has won numerous awards, including Gold awards from Visit England, South West Tourism Awards and Devon Tourist Awards, including awards for ethical, responsible and sustainable tourism, and the site has Green Tourism Gold status.  You can tailormake your stay from private dining and massages to homemade pizzas and unlimited popcorn.

The Area Surrounding The Property / Accommodation

All guests are welcome to enjoy the 20 acres of winding paths through wildflower meadows, woodland and along the river.  Hartland village is a 10 minute walk where you’ll find pubs, shops and a pottery, and there’s a restaurant, Pattard Restaurant, just 5 minutes walk away.  Hartland Quay, with its rugged coastline, miles of clifftop walks and small beach is 3 miles away, and you can reach numerous other beaches including Sandymouth, Westward Ho! and Summerleaze within a 15 mile radius.  A 15 minute walk down the valley will take you to Hartland Abbey and Gardens, a stately home in a simply stunning setting on the northwest Devon coast.  Nearby Clovelly, with its steep cobbled streets and quaint fishing cottages has been named the most instagrammable village in the UK.  Food lovers will find some of the best restaurants in the South West located nearby.  Activities for all including the Lynton & Lynmouth Cliff Railway, The Big Sheep family attraction, a honey form, a wakeboarding and aquapark, surfing, cycling and hiking.

Interior Details
The treehouse has two bedrooms, one with a four poster super king size bed, and the second room with bunk beds.  There’s a cinema projector in the main bedroom, as well as a double, gold polished, brass bath at the foot of the bed, with views out across the terrace and beyond.  The well equipped kitchen has an electric oven and hob, coffee machine, and on arrival you’ll find fresh local ground coffee and some basic kitchen condiments.   The bathroom has a Scandi inspired design with marble sink and luxury walk in shower.  Towels, robes, slippers and complimentary toiletries included.  There is underfloor heating throughout and the main living space has a log burner.  There are plenty of board games, a selection of books and magazines suitable for all ages, and a telescope, binoculars and picnic backpacks.

Exterior Details
Outside on the private terrace you’ll find a BBQ, wood fired pizza oven, a bath, a double hammock, and a wood fired hot tub.  You’ll have your own dedicated parking space by the barn, a short distance from your retreat.  There is an EV charger on site for guest use.  The treehouse is in a Dark Skies area so when the nights are clear, the stargazing is superb.

Conditions of Rental
Check in from 1630, check out by 1000.  You’ll be sent an access code to your key safe in advance of your arrival.  Children’s crockery and cutlery provided.  Highchair, cot and other baby items can be provided on request.  Two dogs are welcome for an additional charge of £25 per dog per stay.  (Includes water bowls, treats, toys, blankets and bed).  Dog bath for washing muddy paws, and light up dog collars for night time trips out.  There will be a welcome treat awaiting your arrival.  Other services are also available for an additional fee including a private chef, pre heated hot tub, a massage, a local food box, and more.
