One-Off Feature

Austria’s first glamping site is on the shores of Lake Pirkdorfer See in Carinthia in southern Austria, near the Slovenian border.  It is in an idyllic setting amongst mountains, lakes and forests.  Comprising a range of glamping options including treehouses & safari tents, and with masses to do both on site and in the nearby vicinity, this is an excellent choice of holiday location for couples, families and groups of friends.

General Info

Lake Pirkdorfer See, which is part of the 7-lakes-region, has excellent water quality and is one of Europe’s warmest bathing lakes. Six more beautiful lakes are all within 20km, and all well worth exploring.  The 2,215m mountain of Petzen is just 4km away, waiting to be climbed by the more energetic of your group.  This is truly a place where you can immerse yourself in beautiful natural surroundings. There’s masses to do on site to keep the whole family entertained.  You can swim either in the little lake by the tents or in the Lake Pirkdorfer See itself.  You can SUP and pedal boat on the lake, or try out the bouncy castle on the water.  There are e-bikes available for hire, and lots of great walking / hiking opportunities from your door.  There is a fun park next to the resort.  There’s an excellent restaurant on site so you don’t have to travel far to enjoy good local food.

The Area Surrounding The Property / Accommodation

You will not be short of things to do at any time of year.  You can enjoy swimming and watersports in the lake, or exploring the other nearby lakes in the region. There are lots of hiking trails and biking routes, either around the mountain, on the riverside paths or on the nearby practice trails.  The rest of Carinthia is well worth exploring - enjoy local museums, the forest adventure world at Klopeiner See, the bird park at Turnersee, the pYramidenkogel at Worther See or the Planetarium for example.  In winter time you can ski and snowboard on the Petzen 4km away.  Ski touring, cross country skiing, sledging, snowshoe hiking are all also available.
