And this demand has led to a significant increase in the number and diversity of unusual holiday cottages, so it isn’t like looking for a needle in a haystack anymore, it’s just a question of knowing where to look and what to look for, from holiday cottages in England to luxury villas in Spain and glamping in Italy.
The greatest thing about unique accommodation is that it comes in so many shapes, sizes and styles – there’s something to suit everyone! Saying ‘unusual holiday cottages’ to one person might conjure up images of a thatched chocolate-box English hideaway, with an Aga, a log burner, exposed beams and slate floors. On the other hand, another person might immediately think of a Scottish loch-side retreat – isolated and remote on the outside, yet done up like a luxurious 5-star spa on the inside. Mine might be a simple, rustic cabin surrounded by unspoilt Spanish or Portuguese countryside. Geographically, unique holiday cottages could be anywhere.
