Enjoy a slice of forest paradise with a stay in a treehouse glamping pod - a tree-high safari tent in a rural hamlet in the beautiful Blackdown Hills in Somerset. With forest views all around, a private balcony, and a mains bathroom at the bottom of the ladder, this is a truly unique place to stay. Open all year round - a lovely spot for cosy winter glamping holidays.
The tree pod is set on the owners’ smallholding - it’s a beautiful, peaceful spot, where you’ll be surrounded by the sounds of nature, and the odd tractor trundling by. From your high vantage point, you might spot the ponies in the forest, or indeed meet them when the owners take them out to graze. It’s a very rural place, but there’s a pub and a shop three miles away in the village of Churchinford. Or Hemyock, a little further afield, also has a spar shop. There are masses of lovely walks straight from the door - this is a wonderful location for glamping treehouse holidays in England. It's open all year round as it's super cosy in winter. The tent part is fully insulated. In the sleeping area there's copper piping under the mattress, there's an electric heater in the living area and a heated towel rail in the bathroom.
You’ll be hard pressed to find a better place to switch off from busy life, so you might decide not to venture far during your stay. The local area is teeming with footpaths and bridleways, so you won’t be short of walking opportunities! The Blackdown Hills is an AONB (Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty) and with good reason! If you want to explore, the pod is in a good location for visiting the south coast - Lyme Regis, Exmouth or Sidmouth. The local towns, Honiton (9 miles) and Wellington (8 miles) have good amenities, and the bigger towns of Exeter and Taunton are within easy reach too. There are activities and sightseeing opportunities all around, both for the sunny days, and for the less sunny ones!

There is an octagonal living area where you can relax on comfy bean bags with a small kitchen area. The kitchen has a fridge, cooker and hob, crockery and cutlery, tableware etc. Linen is provided and there is electric heating. In winter time, acrylic windows are added to the tent windows for extra insulation, but to ensure that you can still see the forest around you. Wifi throughout. At the bottom of the ladder you’ll find a mains toilet, shower and sink.
Exterior Details
Outside (accessed through the living area) is a balcony where you can enjoy the amazing forest views. The balcony is fully fenced and has table / chairs, as well as a firepit so you can enjoy some fireside stargazing, and BBQ al fresco. Parking is either right next to the pod if you have a 4 x 4 or only a few metres away if you don't.
Conditions of Rental
Check in from 4pm and check out by 11am (self check in / out with keypad). Not suitable for infants. No smoking. The ground around the pod and the access down to it is a bit steep and uneven so would not suit people unsteady on their feet.
