One-Off Feature
This spacious holiday retreat overlooks a picturesque, wooded valley in the heart of Bannau Brycheiniog National Park (Brecon Beacons). The property sleeps 12 guests (with additional camping space on the grounds) and is the perfect base for large family gatherings and holidays with friends. The bustling town of Brecon is just 4 miles away, and nearby attractions include Llangorse Lake, Brecon Mountain Railway, Tretower Court and Castle (all within 25 miles).
The 17th-century barn conversion exudes rustic charm, with large, oak beams, exposed stonework, and flagstone flooring. On the ground floor, you’ll find a spacious kitchen/diner equipped with everything needed to create delicious dinners for the group, which you can share together around the refectory-style dining table. A few steps from here lead down to a gorgeous social space, with curved seating set around a cosy open fire and double-height windows framing tranquil views of the surrounding landscape. A flight of steps from the kitchen/diner takes you up to the inviting lounge, with characterful exposed trusses and a roaring wood burner. Relax here, after a day of adventure, stretched out on one of the sofas to read a book or watch the Smart TV. One of the sofas is a double sofa bed, accommodating a further two guests. Adjacent to the lounge, on a mezzanine level, is an open-plan bedroom with six single beds (please note, this room has low beams). Completing this level is a family bathroom. Back downstairs, you’ll find the remaining three bedrooms, one of which has an en-suite shower room. Two of the bedrooms share a Jack and Jill-style shower room, and there is also a separate shower room on the ground floor. Outside, enjoy uninterrupted views across the valley from the patio, which has outdoor seating and a BBQ.
The vibrant market town of Brecon is full of independent shops and eateries, along with museums and galleries to explore. Take time to admire the beautiful Georgian architecture within the town, and soak up the history on a visit to the cathedral. Catch a show at the famous Theatr Brycheiniog or join a boat trip to explore the area from the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal. For a fun family day out, Cantref Adventure Farm is just 2.5 miles away.
