The ultimate in romantic treehouse holidays, this glorious handmade ‘hidden house’ treehouse on a woodland’s edge, is set on an organic farm near Crewkerne in rural Somerset. Super stylish interiors, a private hot tub, outdoor copper bath and infrared sauna. One of our most unique romantic getaways.
Brand new for 2024, The Hidden House is rooted on timber legs and wrapped in local cedar and is the very essence luxury Somerset glamping. The living spaces are three metres above the ferns among the vertical trunks. A stay here feels like the ultimate indulgence with its cosy interiors where you can cuddle up in front of the log burner and enjoy the woodland views from the large windows. Or you can while away the hours in the outdoor bath or hot tub under the stars.
In the neighbouring village of Hinton St George (about a mile away and easily accessible by bike or on foot), is the award-winning Lord Poulett Arms. It’s a traditional country pub with flagstone floors, low beams and open fires. Crewkerne is two miles to the east and is a market town with supermarkets, shops, cafes and an indoor pool and gym complex. The coastal town of Lyme Regis, with its boutiques and second hand book shops, is a 30 minute drive, and West Bay & Bridport, the gateway to the Jurassic Coast, is the same distance. The beach at West Bay is stunning and Bridport itself has everything from cafes and vintage shops to an independent cinema. The coastline and countryside is beautiful - walk a stretch of the coast path, go windsurfing, fishing and rock climbing in Weymouth, or visit one of the many historic houses and gardens like Montacute House, Forde Abbey, and Abbotsbury Swannery.
There are loads of places to eat and drink in the area – try the Lord Poulett Arms in Hinton St George, the River Cottage Canteen in Axminster, the Hive Beach Café in Burton Bradstock, the Hix oyster and fish house in Lyme Regis, The Wild Garlic in Beaminster, the Phoenix Bakery in Weymouth, or the Olive Tree Restaurant in Bridport.
