Honeybee Cottage is a gorgeous little village retreat on the banks of the River Coquet in the medieval village of Warkworth in Northumberland. Cosy, characterful and walking distance to the village amenities, it’s a wonderful place to base yourself while you explore beautiful Northumberland.
This luxurious cottage sleeps up to four in two en suite bedrooms and will feel like a wonderful treat for any guests who stay. Equipped with all the essentials and lots of luxury touches - complimentary White Company or Temple Spa toiletries, Laura Ashley tiling, fluffy white towels, high thread count bed linen and lovely river views. Although set in a quiet location, you are also just a short walk from the beach and local restaurants.
The cottage is a few hundred yards from the main street of Warkworth village with its fascinating history and interesting things to see, including a magnificent castle dating back to the 12th century, a 14th century Norman Church and a fortified bridge. There’s also a fascinating Hermitage on the other side of the Coquet River, carved out of rock and only accessible by boat! There are restaurants, a French patisserie, pubs and interesting little independent shops and art galleries. The beach is just 15 minutes away on foot. You can drive there too if you don’t fancy the walk. It takes approx. 3 minutes to drive and there are no car parking charges. Alnwick Castle with its world-famous Alnwick Gardens and Alnwick Treehouse is 15 minutes’ drive away, as well as the market town of Alnwick with its farmers markets in the town square once a month. Bamburgh and Holy Island are further north and can all be reached by following the pretty coastal route along our stunning coastline. Inland you will find the country town of Rothbury, market town of Morpeth, and further afield the amazing Kielder forest and reservoir, famous for its Dark Skies.

Interior Details
The cottage simply oozes character, with an inglenook fireplace and original oak beams throughout. There are two bedrooms, both with ensuite bathrooms. The front bedroom looks out over the river and has a superking sized bed. The second bedroom has a kingsized bed and views to medieval Warkworth Castle. The open plan kitchen diner is spacious and light with large glazed windows and rooflights. The sitting room is beautifully furnished with a woodburning stove set into the inglenook fireplace. Each of the bedrooms and the living room all have Smart TVs. There is a downstairs WC. There is a good selection of books, guidebooks and games.
Exterior Details
At the front of the cottage there is an enclosed gravelled area with a bench seat from which you can enjoy the river views. At the back of the cottage is a pretty patio area with table and chairs for four. Parking is on the quiet residential road in front of the cottage.
