General Info

In the heart of the beautiful Brecon region of Wales you will find Gilestone Farm, a place where you can escape the stresses of everyday life without foregoing your home comforts. Comfortable beds, private shower rooms and hot tubs keep things more than civilised, log fires and wild swimming will immerse you in nature and all-in-all it’s a gorgeous restorative place whether you’re playing a board game and reading a book or building dens and taking a rowing boat out onto the neighbouring lake. Children and adults alike will be in heaven.

The Area Surrounding The Property / Accommodation

On site your children can explore the fields, romp around the play area, row on the lake, take a tour of the farm or pick apples from the orchard. In the village of Talybont you will find a village shop with café, three good pubs and some local arts and crafts establishments, and the area is perfect for walking, cycling and horse riding. Or you could visit the Brecon Mountain Railway, the show caves at Dan yr Ogof, the town of Brecon itself and attractive destinations like Crickhowell, Hay-on-Wye, Aberglasney Gardens or the National Botanic Gardens.

Getting There & Local Amenities

Getting There:
From the Severn Bridge, heading into Wales from Bristol, London and the South East: at junction 24 of the M4, take the A48/A449 exit to Newport(E)/Monmouth. After about 12 miles take the A40 towards Abergavenny. Follow the A40 through Abergavenny and on towards Brecon. A mile after you go through the village of Bwlch, take the slip road on the left to Talybont. 200 metres after the bridge, take the track on the right, to Gilestone Farm parking. For Gilestone Glamping continue along the track with the farmhouse on the right, and you’ll see parking spaces outside the glamping field.

Interior Details
Goshawk and Buzzard have 3 bedrooms each (a double, a twin and a cabin) as well as a living area wth wood burning stove, a kitchen with gas hob/fridge/kettle/toaster, a private shower room with a flushing loo (a short walk from the tent) and plenty of games and books. The third lodge, Dove, has two bedrooms (one double and one twin), a sitting area with sofa and chairs and a kitchen area with everything you could need. Towels, bed linen, wood, utensils and basic kitchen essentials are included.

Exterior Details
Outside each lodge there is a fire pit with a BBQ grill and a private wood fired hot tub where you can stargaze and wallow. There is a shared washing machine in the farmyard.

Conditions of Rental
Group and couples discounts are available. Casseroles etc can be provided.
