One-Off Feature

Nestled in a peaceful rural setting in Devon with uninterrupted views of the River Tamar and the surrounding countryside, Driftwood Cottage is a delightful retreat for hiking, boating, fishing and wildlife watching.

General Info

Whether you want to stroll across the salt marshes, take a boat out on the water, explore the local hills or simply switch off and hibernate in front of the fire, this charming Devonshire cottage provides the perfect home-from-home experience. The house itself is cosy and characterful, with all the mod cons and facilities for relaxed self-catering. Outside you can have a BBQ as you watch the comings and goings of the river. And in the area you can fish for salmon and sea trout, kayak straight from the cottage, discover a network of footpaths or learn about the wonderful world of honey bees. A holiday in Driftwood Cottage offers a rare opportunity to slow down and switch off.

The Area Surrounding The Property / Accommodation

From the cottage you can do a lovely 1.5-2 hour circular walking route or a 30 minute meander will take you to the station and the local village, home to a pub, a post office, a pharmacy, a fish and chip shop and two mini supermarkets. The surrounding land is teeming with wildlife, from buzzards and badgers to foxes and deer, and after a day of exploring you can have a meal out at The Edgcumbe Hotel in Bere Alston or The Old Plough Inn at Bere Ferrers. A little further afield you will find the markets and restaurants of Tavistock, not to mention the Burrator Reservoir and historic Buckland Abbey.
