Set within landscaped grounds in a tranquil Marche valley, with exceptional views in every direction, this traditional farmhouse has been beautifully restored and converted into six luxurious private apartments. Casal dei Fichi will not disappoint.
Casal dei Fichi has been extremely highly rated by its previous guests and it isn’t hard to see why. It has recently been featured in Matt Landau's TV series `A Sense of Place` and as at the end of 2017 has reviewed over 500 5* reviews on Trip Advisor. Each apartment is furnished to a high standard and has its own individual style and character, the views and setting are nothing short of breathtaking, and thoughtful little features like the pizza oven, the vegetable patch and the freshly-laid eggs all add to the relaxed yet indulgent atmosphere. And despite its picturesque and peaceful setting, the farmhouse is just 30 minutes from the blue flag Adriatic beaches and 45 minutes from the awesome Sibillini Mountains. You cannot fail to unwind in these surroundings.
The local village of Francavilla d’Ete, with its walled medieval centre, is just 2km from the farmhouse – here you will find a grocer, a chemist, a general store, a newsagent, a bank, some bakers and three bars as well as an excellent (and inexpensive) restaurant serving local dishes, pizzas and delicious wine. Throughout the year there is a constant stream of festivals, not least September’s “Lu Vurgu fa Cantina” which is Marche dialect for the ‘village becomes a restaurant’! To the east are the beaches of the Adriatic coastline, to the west are the Sibillini Mountains, where you can walk, climb, cycle or ski, and you are also not far from two of the largest renaissance cities in the region, Urbino and Ascoli Piceno. If you want to explore, don’t miss the medieval hilltop towns, the magical Frasassi Caves, the wine tasting, the ancient Abbadia di Fiastra and the Monte Conero national park.

Interior Details
The apartments are either one or two bedroomed but most also have sofas that can be converted into extra sleeping space if necessary. Each lounge has a TV, a DVD player, a music system and free wireless internet access, and the modern kitchens have oak cabinets, granite work surfaces and all the appliances you could need. The bedrooms are all kitted out with large comfortable beds and the bathrooms have powerful and spacious showers. The thick brick walls provide excellent insulation and each double glazed window is equipped with fly screens and external shutters for coolness in summer.
Exterior Details
Each apartment has its own private garden or terrazza with a table and chairs for outdoor dining. The 15m heated pool is boarded by a large wooden deck and a grassed area, together with a pergola covered in grape vines, and there are lots of sun loungers so you can relax and take in the scenery. In the garden you will find a large vegetable patch, a herb garden and an orchard, all pf which you are free to help yourself from.
Further Details
Each week the owners host a complimentary pizza party for all the guests using the original brick oven in the garden. They make the dough and provide lots of ingredients so you can make your own pizzas and enjoy them with a glass or two of the local wine.
Conditions of Rental
The apartments are non-smoking and are cleaned weekly with fresh bed linen, towels and pool towels provided. Bookings generally run from Saturday to Saturday but mid-week arrivals and short breaks will be accepted subject to availability.
