You might have a specific location in mind; if that’s the case then you can search by county, whether you’re looking for a coastal cottage in Cornwall, a rural retreat in Devon, a romantic bolthole in the Lake District…. Or search the lesser known counties to find some of our most unique stays and quirky accommodation - treehouses in Dorset, architectural gems in Essex, an eco house in Shropshire, and train carriage conversions in Sussex.  To narrow down your chosen counties, just use the region filter.

As for accommodation options, starting with the basics, we can do classic cottages, historic country houses, and holiday apartments by the sea.  But we can also offer super quirky and unusual, cool and contemporary, unique architect designed properties.  And for those who really want something unusual, we’ve got a whole host of different things for you.  Windmill stays, castle holidays, converted train carriages and train stations, horseboxes and tiny houses, cabins and lighthouse cottages.  The accommodation type filter allows you to narrow down the options.

One Off Places is home to distinctive and characterful places to stay not just in England, but across the UK and further afield in Europe.  Without a doubt there’s a time and a place for beach holidays and luxury villas by the sea, but there’s no doubt we are great fans of the staycation and all that it stands for.  Staying closer to home reduces travel costs, environmental impact, and stress levels!  Of course there’s no accounting for the English weather, but England has such a wealth of beautiful places to go and things to see, from stunning coastlines, beautiful National Parks, historic cities and a vast array of activities on offer.
