A beautifully converted dog friendly blacksmith's cottage set in a 230 year old courtyard on a private estate on the River Lyne in an untouched corner of Cumbria. 20 minutes from Carlisle, between the Lake District and Scotland, this is the most fabulous setting for a holiday, with woodland walks and fishing on site, and a fantastic cafe just a short walk from the cottage.
A perfect setting for a family or group of friends holiday. Explore the miles of private river bank and hundreds of acres of ancient woodland. There are so many things to do in the area from fishing, walking and visiting our on site cafe, to going further afield and exploring the Lake District in one directly and Carlisle in the other.
There’s masses you can do both on site and in the surrounding area. There are miles of riverside and woodland walks for you from your doorstep. Salmon and trout fishing are available on the River Lyne, as well as sea trout and wild trout when in season. The river can be fished using fly fishing methods, spinning or with worms. Rod hire is available from us. The Lake District is only 50 minutes away, Keswick being the closest part from us. Hadrian’s Wall is nearby and it’s a great day out to walk along part of the wall.
