Lanzarote
Lanzarote is the most easternmost island of the Canaries and is a mere 37 miles long, meaning that wherever you find your villa in Lanzarote, you will be able to travel all over the island during your holiday. The island is strewn with dramatic volcanic features, including the longest volcanic tunnel in the world, the Atlantida Tunnel (4 miles long).
Visitors take up a villa in Lanzarote each year to enjoy its warm and dry climate and its beautiful beaches. The beaches are made up of white sand in the north of the island, and black (volcanic) sand further south. It is also an excellent destination for those in search of a bit more than simple sun worshipping, as there is no end to the activities on offer here, all of which will be within easy journey of your holiday rental. But there aren't just villas on offer - there are all sorts of other holiday rental houses. Why not try a holiday in a yurt for example? There are golf courses galore (relative to the island’s size), and an excellent array of watersports, not least snorkelling and swimming, scuba diving and deep sea fishing. Whatever you are looking for in terms of your villa in Lanzarote, you are likely to find it here, from beachfront villas and apartments, to traditional farmhouses and village houses. You can choose to join the throngs in the more touristy areas, or escape inland to experience real Canarian village life far from the madding crowds. Wherever your villa in Lanzarote is situated, you’ll be able to take day trips to the islands main attractions; don’t miss a trip to Timanfaya National Park, a volcanic landscape that has barely changed since its eruption in the 1730s and covers a quarter of the island's surface. There are also cave systems and stunning lookout points, beautiful gardens and museums to discover.
