One-Off Feature
For special occasions, gather a big group for a getaway in Coniston. This 16th-century property would comfortably house a multi-generational family trip for people (and dogs) who love the outdoors. There’s room for everyone, both in the spacious bedrooms, across the social areas and out to the garden. This ends in your own private lake beach, and you’ll have the option to use a jetty.

This house has two floors, but please be aware that there are odd steps around. You’ll start in a cosy and welcoming lounge, with a wood burner and an open fire for crisp evenings. It’s a nice place to catch up, play games and relax after a busy day. Continue through to the dining room, which has a large table to accommodate the whole gang, and then there’s a kitchen, where you’ll have everything you need to cook up delicious food, plus access to the garden if you’d like to eat outside. Head upstairs, where all of the bedrooms and bathrooms are located. To start, there’s a quirky double bedroom with a copper bathtub on one side; then there are three more double bedrooms, each with en-suites. You’ll also have an en-suite twin bedroom, perfect for children, and two bedrooms with bunk beds, sleeping four in total. The bunk bedrooms have a shared Jack and Jill bathroom. The grounds are gorgeous, set against the mountains and lake. Check out the outdoor dining area, garden furniture, and the private lake beach.

You’ll have plenty to do in and around the property, and when you’re ready for a day out, why not climb the famous Scafell Pike (14 miles) or explore Wray Castle (5.5 miles)? Coniston is 1.5 miles away, around the top of the lake, and has plenty of eateries, shops and activities.
