Just half a mile from the banks of Ullswater, this romantic retreat forms the gable-end of a terrace of rural 19th-century stone-built cottages and makes a delightful hideaway for two guests exploring the heart of the Lake District. Offering breathtaking views and chances to spot a range of wildlife including red squirrels, this traditional Lakeland miner’s cottage is a fantastic holiday home for couples. Featuring exposed beams, wooden flooring, a freestanding bath and a wood burner this beautifully updated property has been tastefully furnished to provide a fresh, relaxing hideaway in a beautifully secluded wooden enclave.
This airy and welcoming cottage features a beautiful pitch-pine beamed lounge/diner with plenty of seating, a friendly wood burner, a pretty dining area and slate floors with underfloor heating, making an ideal space to snuggle up and chat into the night. The dining area is perfect for a romantic meal for two which you can rustle up in the kitchen which has a range of useful equipment and beechwood work surfaces. Heading up the short staircase you will find a light, spacious bedroom with a king-size bed, underfloor heating, ceiling beams and tastefully selected furniture, along with an en-suite bathroom with wainscoting. Outside, the garden has a shared lawn, mature apple trees and outdoor furniture offering a lovely spot to sit back and take in the stunning surrounding views.

This is a wonderful area for walkers of all abilities, or you could head to Ullswater and cruise across the lake by steamship. Also nearby is the lively market town of Keswick (15.5 miles) on the banks of Derwentwater.
