Helmsley, located just a couple of miles from the property, is one of the prettiest towns in Yorkshire and lies just on the outskirts of the glorious North York Moors. The wonderful heather covered moors offer plenty of opportunities for breathtaking walks and bike rides, stretching out for some 600 square miles. You could also explore the Howardian Hills (5 miles), an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, to the south. Helmsley and the delightful neighbouring town of Pickering offer a range of lovely pubs, restaurants and independent shops. Local attractions include Castle Howard (13.5 miles), Duncombe Park (1.5 miles), Nunnington Hall and Rievaulx Terrace (3 miles). The historic city of York (24.5 miles), home of York Minster, Jorvik, the Shambles and Castle Museum, is also within easy reach.
