One-Off Feature
This stunning castle has a real wow factor right from the moment you drive into the grounds. With plenty of unique touches, it provides a memorable backdrop for a large group of friends or family. With four bedrooms and sleeping up to seven people, plus two dogs, the property is in a beautiful location on the River Deveron – a fantastic spot for those who love to fish. However, this large home also has countless stunning walks from the front door, so even non-fishers will enjoy a stay.
The property’s tower house helps to make the imposing building even more impressive. Parts of it even date back to the 14th and 15th centuries. However, while it retains many original features which give it character, such as stained-glass windows and a vaulted ceiling in the dining room, it has all the modern-day amenities you should need for a comfortable stay. The living areas are homely and cosy but at the same time, those original features give it a real castle experience.
The entrance is via the side door that leads into the kitchen. This space has everything required to cook up a good meal and is a great place to gather for breakfast and chat about the day ahead. There is a small lounge area on the ground floor with a Smart TV which then leads to the dining room. It’s easy to host an unforgettable dinner party for family and friends and enjoy time together around the dining table, and light up the wood burner on those cooler winter nights. There is a WC and utility area next to the stairwell for your convenience.
Take the stairs to the first floor, where you will find the shower room and three beautifully decorated bedrooms: one super-king-size, a king-size and a double. The main lounge is accessed by a few steps from the first floor and is in the original tower part of the castle. It’s a great place to read, relax, and unwind, with another wood burner to keep you cosy on colder evenings.
On the second floor, you will find a twin bedroom and a bathroom with a beautiful Victorian-style bath.
Outside, there is a large courtyard and garden area with seating and a BBQ, with lots of grassed areas for the children to play. It is laid mainly to lawn with plenty of mature shrubs and trees befitting of the castle’s age. Thanks to having so much land, there’s off-road parking for up to six cars.
