Enter the property and find yourself in the stylish open-plan living area with a sofa and a double bed where you can soak up the countryside views through the glass doors. This space is decorated with a TV and has access to the decking. A compact, contemporary kitchen offers the essentials for cooking a homemade meal. Completing the interior is a bright shower room with a WC. Outside, you’ll find a raised terrace with a table and chairs plus a fire pit. You can also explore the grounds containing 300 acres of wood and farmland. Parking is along a 100-metre path, so a wheelbarrow is available to help with your luggage to the cabin.

While staying in the foothills of the Black Mountains, you’ll be on the border between England and Wales, with the historic Craswall Priory just 1.5 miles away. For a meal out or to pick up some essentials, head to Hay-on-Wye (4 miles) – here, you can also wander around the castle and along the River Wye.
