One-Off Feature
There’s a real sense of history at this handsome holiday home, which sits in a tiny hamlet just 2 miles from the nearest North Pembrokeshire beach. Boasting three double bedrooms – one an en-suite – and high-end country styling, it’s family- and pet-friendly with wonderful garden views over pastureland and towards the Preseli Mountains.
A self-contained cottage attached to the original Minister's home at Llangloffan Chapel, this enchanting retreat is surrounded by fields between Fishguard and St Davids. Step inside and a warm welcome awaits – the striking sitting room has a choice of comfortable seating, a Smart TV, DVD and Bluetooth speaker, as well as a wood burner. Beyond, the characterful dining room features period furniture plus a range of books, toys and board games; a window seat overlooks the garden. Back through the sitting room, the country-style kitchen has all the must-haves of home, including an integrated washing machine and dishwasher to make light work of your self-catering stay. Upstairs, the three bedrooms are blissful; each has a double bed, one has its own en-suite, and a gorgeous family bathroom with both a bath and separate walk-in shower ensures comfort for all. Soak up the country atmosphere by spending time in the garden; it has a charcoal BBQ and dining furniture as well as a children’s climbing frame, lawn and wildflower meadow.
It's 2 miles to Abermawr Beach, where low tide exposes golden sand and the remains of a forest drowned when an ice sheet melted 8,000 years ago. Just to the north, Aberbach is a great place to watch seals playing or, when the wind gets up, the waves crashing on the shore. Walk to either via Melin Tregwynt woollen mill, where you can stop for refreshments and shop for Welsh blankets and textiles. For a further taste of local life, the cottage is 5.5 miles from Fishguard and 11 miles from St Davids, where the landmark cathedral is a must-see.
