One-Off Feature
This quirky woodland lodge with a cosy open-plan living space, a wood burner and a quiet decked area with a chiminea is an excellent choice for couples seeking a tranquil break in nature. Enjoy romantic strolls through the surrounding woodland and mountains of the Brecon Beacons National Park while benefiting from the amenities of nearby towns.

As you enter the former writer’s cabin, you’ll find a bright open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner with a balance of neutral-toned and colourful furnishings. A rustic low-hanging light spotlights the intimate dining table which sits in front of a comfortable sofa and a wood burner. Adjacent is a compact, one-wall fitted kitchen with a blue feature wall and wooden countertops. Through the curtain is a double bedroom with hanging space for clothes. Completing the interior is an eco-friendly shower room with a compost WC. Outside, you can admire the woodland views from the decked area with furniture, a chimenea and a hammock.

While staying near the hamlet of Bettws, head to the peak of Sugar Loaf Mountain (5 miles), which sits at 596 metres, to soak up the panoramic views of the eastern Brecon Beacons National Park. Visit the picturesque town of Crickhowell (7 miles) and stroll along the River Usk before visiting the castle ruins and stopping at one of the country pubs. Adventurous couples could try some mountain biking or pony trekking in the Black Mountains (9 miles). Step back in time at Clydach Gorge (13.5 miles) and Chartists Cave (18 miles). Also within reach is the market town of Abergavenny (3 miles) which is home to a museum, an array of shops and eateries.
