This luxurious treehouse in a south facing valley in rural Devon is a fabulous escape for anyone wanting a unique glamping in England experience. With its copper bath on the deck, and far reaching views over Dartmoor, enjoy stargazing, wildlife and bird watching, and explore the delights of Devon and Cornwall.
The 20-acre site is a mix of woodland, streams, meadows and apple orchards and is bursting with wildlife. Woodpeckers, owls and birds of prey are regular visitors and if you’re lucky you might spot deer grazing at the edge of the woodland. The owners live in a farmhouse on the east side of the site and have ensured that the treehouses are sustainable and environmentally low impact where people can submerge themselves in nature. The family were determined that the treehouse holidays project should be low impact and benefit the local area wherever possible, so worked with local and renowned timber framers Emmanuel Hendry on the design and build. The Scandi-inspired cabins were a two year project of love, built using locally sourced and sustainable wood and low impact materials, as well as local contractors and suppliers.
There’s masses to do in the local area if you can drag yourself away from the beautiful setting of the treehouse. Dartmoor National Park is on your doorstep where you can enjoy wonderful walking and cycling trails through ancient woodland, granite tors and rolling moorland. There is a wide choice of pubs and restaurants, as well as gardens and historic houses to visit, and other popular visitor attractions. If you want to go a little further afield, the beaches of both the north and south coasts are within easy reach, as is the city of Exeter.
