Christmas in the Hebrides

On the east side of the Isle of Lewis, the luxurious Lewis Longhouse is set near the beach in an area of peaceful, natural beauty. Stunning interiors and huge windowns with uninterrupted views this is a truly special place in which to escape, at any time of year.

Energy conscious technology and local environment were at the very forefront of the building approach, yet the end result is unquestionably luxurious and the design contemporary throughout.  Watch the weather change through the floor to ceiling windows, and soak up the views in every direction.  Inside, a double height living area, two large bedrooms and two bathrooms, as well as a relaxation area and office zone.  The kitchen worktop is handcrafted from storm-felled beech trees, bedrooms face south to make the most of the views, and underfloor heating and a multi fuel stove keep you warm in winter.  100 yards from your door is the beach - step outside onto the large deck and within a few moments you can be walking on the shore listening to the waves.

Lewis is a magical place to visit with lots to see and do, whether you want to relax or to get active. Lewis has some truly amazing walks if you want to explore outstanding natural features is also perfect for cycling and fishing. If you are a wildlife lover then you'll be in heaven, with everything from birds to dolphins thriving in their natural habitat.  Or you can spend your days wandering around Stornoway harbour, shopping for Harris tweed, walking in Lewis Castle Grounds, and savouring the fare from local eateries.

To get there, you can sail directly into Stornoway from Ullapool or you can take your time through the islands from Skye to Harris and drive up to Lewis.  The house is 6 miles from Stornoway.  You can also fly into Stornoway from Glasgow, Edinburgh, Aberdeen and Inverness.
