A five bedroom farmhouse in Lerags Glen, a picturesque valley in Argyll, just three miles from Oban in the highlands of Scotland. Large windows with panoramic rural and water views, this is an exceptional holiday house in Scotland. Ideal for families and friends looking for big group accommodation.
Once a traditional working farm, Achalic Farmhouse has been converted into a modern and comfortably styled holiday house whilst retaining its original features. Set in a simply spectacular setting, the house has a warm and homely feel, with many cosy features, including a woodburning stove inside, a woodburning hot and a pair of bath tubs outside.
The house is in the heart of Lerags Glen, a wonderful spot of rural tranquility, yet just a 10 minute drive from the town of Oban which has a wide range of shops, restaurants things to do and see. There’s an abundance of wildlife around the farmhouse - red squirrels, roe deer, pine martens and sea eagles have all been spotted, and there are lots of walking trails to explore. You can walk down to the shores of Loch Feochan, and there’s the renowned Barn Bar pub and restaurant a 15 minute walk away.

The cottage is accessible by a single-track road. Oban is a 10-minute drive to the north.

Interior Details
The house can sleep up to 10 people in five bedrooms. There is one double ensuite bedroom on the ground floor, and the other four bedrooms (one double ensuite, one king ensuite, and two superkings with shared bathroom) are upstairs. Linen and towels are all provided. The kitchen is large and well equipped, including a range cooker, dishwasher, washing machine and a wide range of appliances and utensils. The dining table seats 10. The lounge has a woodburning stove and lots of comfy furniture and there’s a separate games room. Smart TV, wifi, and good mobile phone coverage. Cot and high chair provided on request.
Exterior Details
The house is set in a large mature garden with stunning views in all directions. There are two outdoor seating and dining areas, one to the front of the house, and one at the back with a BBQ area. There is a wood fired hot tub (initial batch of firewood supplied; please allow 2.5 hours for it to heat up), and a pair of outdoor baths with views across the water. There is plenty of parking on site.
Conditions of Rental
25% deposit payable on booking plus £300 refundable security deposit pre authorised on day of arrival. Changeover day Saturday. Check in from 4pm / check out by 9.30am. Short breaks (any day arrival) Nov - Mar (except Christmas and New Year). 2 dogs welcome. No smoking / vaping. Sorry, the property is not wheelchair accessible. There is a two bedroom cottage just down the drive if you are a larger group and need more space.
