One-Off Feature

Casa Montana is a luxurious townhouse in the heart of Bocairent, a town which nestles peacefully in the Sierra Mariola mountains. Come and enjoy lush green scenery, pure mountain air and rural tranquillity alongside traditional Valencian cooking, bustling bars and award-winning beaches.

General Info

Recently renovated while retaining lots of original Spanish features, Casa Montana offers the best of everything. Its urban setting means you are within easy reach of local markets and excellent restaurants, and yet you are also surrounded by sensational countryside and just an hour from the coast. The house is around 100 years old, and you can feel a sense of history and grandeur as you enter. And with four bedrooms, spacious living rooms and two private terraces, it is the ideal holiday house for families and groups of friends, or for couples who want to spread out in complete comfort. Bocairent itself is a historic place full of cobbled streets, small squares and babbling fountains, not to mention markets full of mouth-watering local produce. And the surrounding countryside is a haven for a diversity of outdoor pursuits. Whether you want to relax or explore, Casa Montana is the perfect base.

The Area Surrounding The Property / Accommodation

Bocairent itself has plenty to offer, from restaurants and cafes to museums and its unique bullring (the oldest in Valencia) carved into the rock. Nearby, the Covetes Dels Moros (a group of caves made up of around 50 rooms with holes like windows) is well worth a visit, there is go karting available in Villena, and there are several water parks within a short drive. The countryside around here offers fantastic walking, cycling and rock climbing opportunities, as well as horse riding, hot air ballooning and micro-lighting. And if you enjoy a swim, there is a open-air pool in the town (open June to September), or you can swim at Pou Clar, a local beauty spot with natural rock pools only 10 minutes away. The blue flag beaches and lively bars of Gandia are only a 45 minute drive from Bocairent and there are other historic towns to explore, for example the university town of Alcoy and the amazing village of Guadalest, built entirely into a mountain.

We enjoyed our stay. The town house had plenty of character we especially liked cooking in the 'Jamie Oliver' kitchen. The beds were so comfortable with crisp linen and plenty of hot water for showers. The bakery next door was so tempting with its smells and wonderful fresh cakes and quiches - even made to order. We did plenty of walking with lots of different places to visit. Eating out was excellent (especially the Railway Hotel) and good value. Marta, our contact in Bocairent, looked after all our needs - a very helpful and friendly lady. A holday to remember and recommend to your friends - thank you Carl and Clare for a wonderful stay.

What a fantastic adventure we have just had in Bocairent, staying in the wonderful Casa Montana. The locals so friendly, the food and wine amongst the very best I have had in Spain, and the fiesta which came right past our door just spectacular, a truly super holiday which I would recommend to all looking for an authentic Spanish get away.

My husband and I had a wonderful 10 days in Casa Montana. We explored the whole area, and although we have very limited Spanish found everyone so friendly and helpful. We spent most early evenings in the town square watching the world go by with our obligatory glass of wine and then off to sample one of the many local restaurants. The house itself is beautifully restored, and very grand, with every possible amenity available. The beds extremely comfortable. The kitchen is well stocked with all that we could possibly need, the adjoining terrace the perfect place for breakfast. Your representative Marta was very helpful, and we really appreciated the welcome pack that she organised. We were lucky enough to be there on the first Sunday of the month, and witnessed the mini town fiesta which was great fun. Helped a little I feel by the fact that Spain had won their round in the World Cup that evening and the whole town was celebrating. Thank you Carl and Clare for allowing us the privilege of using your home. It is a holiday we will never forget.

We loved it. The house, the village & the locals were so friendly. It didn't bother us at all that there wasn't a pool, the beach was only half an hour away. The bigger towns for sightseeing, shopping for clothes etc were only about 40 minutes away. Our only regret is that we didn't stay as there was so much to see and do in that part of Spain. Your home was spacious, clean and had everything we needed - a home from home.
