Overlooking an Atlantic Ocean sea loch, this modern dog friendly holiday home off the west coast of the Isle of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides is simply stunning. Sea views and beautiful sunsets, wildlife and watersports, magnificent landscapes and wild beauty welcome you.
The house was completed in 2023 and designed in such a way that it makes the most of the beautiful views across Loch Barraglom to the Uig Hills and the Atlantic Ocean beyond. The house is in the village of Kirkibost, on the small island of Bernera. Bernera island is just off the coast of the Isle of Lewis, adjoined by a short bridge. It’s a 35 minute drive from the main town of Stornoway. Here you’ll find pristine white sand beaches, turquoise waters, and dramatic landscapes. Lovers of wildlife will be in heaven - keep a look out for golden eagles, otters near the shoreline, and a huge array of seabirds.
The Outer Hebrides has so much to offer its visitors. White sand beaches on your doorstep, rugged cliffs, dramatic mountain scenery, lochs and moorlands. The islands are home to historical landmarks, ancient stone circles and archaeological sites, and there’s a rich tapestry of Gaelic traditions with music and dance at the forefront of the Hebridean culture. If you’re after adventure, you’ve come to the right place - fishing, sailing, sea kayaking, surfing, snorkelling, paddleboarding, hiking, biking, and wildlife spotting galore. Here you’ll find some of the best surfing conditions in Europe and your hosts can put you in touch with a superb surf / watersports company to accommodate all your sea based needs! Join a wildlife safari to have the chance to sea dolphins, orcas, seals and otters, as well as wonderful birdlife. There are lots of walks you can do from the doorstep and around the island. And if you visit between September and March, you might be lucky enough to see the Northern Lights, sometimes even directly from the house.
