Pays de la Loire
The Pays de la Loire region of France is not an area that many people know well, but it is a place that begs to be explored. Sitting on the lower stretches of the Loire River it has the benefit of having both coastal and rural areas, and holiday rentals in the Vendee and Loire Atlantique regions are particularly popular, because of their proximity to the Atlantic and its many beaches. If you’re looking at seaside holiday rentals then the gorgeous beach resorts of Sables d'Olonne, Saint Gilles Croix-de-Vie and La Baule would be perfect, as would the picturesque harbour towns of Le Croisic and Batz-sur-Mer. There are also beautiful little villages like Vouvant to explore, and an abundance of picturesque walking routes. Holiday rentals further north give you easy access to Nantes, a fascinating town where you can either sightsee or sit drinking the local Muscadet wine, and to lovely little places like the walled town of Guerande. Further inland there are no fewer holiday rentals on offer. As you would expect from a Loire region there are castles everywhere! Do not miss the chateaux at Mayenne and Saumur, and their namesake towns, nor the famous and impressive Chateau d’Angers. There is so much to see of historical interest that you will hardly have the time! On the one hand there are chocolate box villages like Montsoreau where you can amble gently and idle away the hours enjoying French hospitality, and on the other there are exciting attractions like the troglodyte village at Rochemenier, which children and adults alike will adore. And of course there is always time around here for messing around in boats! Pays de la Loire holiday rentals are never far from the river, where you can canoe, fish or just bob around to your heart’s content.
