One-Off Feature

In the heart of the Queen Elizabeth Forest near Aberfoyle you will find historic Duchray Castle, and within its walls is this beautifully converted Victorian annex. It’s the perfect blend of characterful and contemporary.

General Info

If you’re looking for comfort and elegance in a magnificent setting then The West Wing at Duchray Castle could be just the place. The annex itself is bright, airy and beautifully furnished, the castle (500 years old and once linked with the infamous Rob Roy) is hugely atmospheric, and there’s lots to do on the surrounding estate, from walking and fishing to clay pigeon shooting and falconry. This is a truly memorable setting.

The Area Surrounding The Property / Accommodation

There’s plenty to do on the estate itself, or further afield you can play golf at the 18-hole course in Aberfoyle, go fishing at the Lake of Menteith fishery, bike along National Cycle Route 7 and go horse riding.  Red squirrel, deer and a huge variety of birds are frequently seen on the Castle estate and our location in the heart of the forest means that miles of forest track are just outside our gates for walkers, cyclists and horse riders to enjoy.  The tourist attractions of the Loch Lomond and Stirlingshire areas are easily accessible and the lack of light pollution allows superb opportunities for star gazing on clear nights.
