Stazzo Villa small cottage is part of an ancient white-washed Sardinian farmhouse, shaded by olive, eucalyptus and pine trees, with views over the Maddalena natural park archipelago.
The old farmhouse is divided into two self-catering cottages in almost original condition. Quiet, rural and peaceful, this cottage is within easy walking distance of beautiful beaches, and is just a 2 mile drive to the town of La Maddalena where everything you might need is available. Dine on the terrace, snooze under the trees, and soak up the sunshine and the views over the Mediterranean.
The Maddalena archipelago lies in the Straits of Bonifacio between Sardinia and Corsica. La Maddalena, the only inhabited island, is home to a town of the same name. It is a busy place with all the amenities you’ll need and there are lots of shops, restaurants, bars and cafes in the piazzas and surrounding streets, not to mention a lively nightlife in the summer months. Maddalena is known for its beaches, and there are beautiful coves and bays scattered around the dozens of islets that make up the archipelago, and boat tours are what places like this do best. So make the most of your water-locked surroundings and hire one to take you around the various islands. But if you’d prefer to stay on dry land, then you can hire bikes and mopeds or you could explore the island of Caprera on horseback.
Getting There:
The only way to get to La Maddalena is via a car-ferry from Palau. The journey is just 20 minutes and the ferry runs hourly all day and night. Alghero airport is 1.5 hours from Palau and Olbia airport is just 40 minutes. Bus services are available between Palau and Olbia. Car hire is strongly advised, and it is available at both Alghero and Olbia.
