Set within the grounds of a private 700 acre estate, this beautifully restored Victorian lodge is a gorgeous blend of old-school character and modern comfort. A perfect retreat for couples, families or friends.
In the heart of verdant Herefordshire you will find Whittern Estate, a historic family-owned landholding which is home to a collection of luxurious holiday cottages. The Lodge itself is both authentic and contemporary, with original features as well as a home cinema and an abundance of other mod cons. The estate is large and well-maintained, with a swimming pool and plenty of quiet corners to discover. And the property is perfectly located for exploring the county, whether you want to walk in the Brecon Beacons, browse the book shops of Hay-on-Wye or dine in the award-winning restaurants of Ludlow. This is a peaceful and restorative place.
There are endless activities on offer in the local area, from hiking, biking and golf to canoeing, climbing and clay pigeon shooting. Historic places like Croft Castle, Hampton Court and Eastnor Castle are well worth a visit, as are the literary town of Hay-on-Wye and the pretty villages of Eardisley and Lyonshall. And there are dozens of excellent eateries nearby, with everything from cosy local pubs to Michelin-starred restaurants.
