One-Off Feature

A characterful 100 year old chalet alongside the piste at the base of the main skiing area of Notre Dame de Bellecombe in the French Alps.  Sleeping up to 8 people comfortably, the chalet is ski in / ski out, just a 5 minute walk from main ski lifts, ski hire, ski school and restaurants and is also in an excellent position for summer activity holidays in the mountains.

General Info

The chalet is over 100 years old and is situated at the end of a farm track in an elevated position alongside the piste at 1400m altitude.  It has panoramic views around the valley from its large south facing balcony and is ski in / ski out and very close to all the amenities.  Oozing character with its old wood and beams, the chalet was dismantled and brought down from the mountain many years ago, to the prime spot that it occupies today.  The piste alongside the chalet links the village of Notre Dame de Bellecombe and the ski slopes of Val D’Arly with the large ski domain of the Espace Diamant.  Espace Diamant has over 157 alpine pistes, 80 ski lifts and 120km of Nordic tracks.

The Area Surrounding The Property / Accommodation

The chalet is in a quiet valley of outstanding natural beauty between Mont Blanc and Lake Annecy in the French Alps.  During the ski season a wide variety of winter sports are available on the doorstep including cross country skiing and snowshoeing, and downhill skiing for all levels and abilities.  During the summer months the alpine villages come alive with local fetes and there are lots of activities in the vicinity from walking and climbing to hot air ballooning and biking.  The Tour de France often passes in front of the chalet.

Accommodation Details

Interior Details
The chalet has three bedrooms and sleeps 8 people comfortably.  There’s one double bedroom with ensuite wet room, one twin also with ensuite access into the wet room, and a twin plus double room divided by a partition wall. The chalet is spacious (total area 100m2) and has a triple aspect lounge and dining area with a large open fireplace.  There is also a seating area on the landing with a panoramic south facing window.  The kitchen is well equipped including dishwasher. Wi-fi throughout.  Additional sleeping accommodation for up to four people is available in the owner’s apartment below comprising two small bunk rooms and a double bedroom with kitchenette, lounge, shower room and WC shared with the owners when they are there. Prices per person on request.

Exterior Details
The chalet has a large and sheltered south facing balcony which in winter overlooks the ski domain of the Espace Diamant and in summer looks out to farmland, pastures and pine forests.  There’s a lawn and patio area with BBQ and campfire within its own 2000m2 of land. 

Further Details
The owners have lived in the area for almost 30 years and are on hand to answer any questions you may have. For winter bookings they will be on hand to help direct you through the farmyard and up the track for which 4x4 plus winter tyres are an absolute necessity in winter. Alternatively, vehicles can be parked 5 mins walk away and the owners can transport luggage up to the chalet.

Conditions of Rental
Logs for the fire, bed linen and utilities are included. Additional sleeping accommodation and shared facilities for up to four people is available. Discounts for under-occupancy. Flexibility on short stays and changeover day. No pets. No smoking.
