Situated on the eastern fringes of the beautiful Forest of Dean, Viney Hill Country House was originally a working farm and has now been renovated to a very high standard. With 8 bedrooms, a games room and a private heated pool, the house is perfect for reunions, family gatherings and activity holidays.
This delightful period house was built in 1741 and sits in an acre of lawns and gardens overlooking the beautiful Gloucestershire countryside and the magnificent Royal Forest of Dean. The interiors have been restored and extended to provide every conceivable comfort, and on your doorstep there are attractions and activities galore, from walking trails to wildlife parks. Whether you’re relaxing in the garden, playing in the pool, getting cosy indoors or getting adventurous outdoors, Viney Hill is a wonderful base from which to explore this peaceful and picturesque spot.
This is an idyllic location for walking, cycling and nature enthusiasts, and adrenaline junkies can go quad biking at Chepstow Activity Centre, high wiring at Go Ape or canoeing in the stunning Symonds Yat Gorge. There are lots of family-friendly attractions – Cheddar Gorge, Big Pit mining museum, Clearwell Caves and Perrygrove Railway, to name but a few. And wildlife lovers will adore Slimbridge Wetland Centre, West Midland Safari Park and The National Bird of Prey Centre at Newent. Whatever the season or the weather there’s something to do within a short drive.

Interior Details
The house has eight bedrooms, seven of which are en-suite. The kitchen/diner is extremely well-equipped, with a double oven range and seating for 16, and down the corridor is a large games room with pool table, table football, board games and a TV. Opposite this is the library, perfect for relaxing with a coffee and the paper, and just off the hall is a large living room with a wood burning stove and a flat screen TV.
Exterior Details
French doors from the living room open out onto a patio with a BBQ and garden furniture and below this is the covered 10m x 5m pool. There is also play equipment to keep children happy and adults can enjoy breathtaking views for miles across the valley. There is parking for six vehicles.
