One-Off Feature

The Beehive is a cosy cabin by the river in Devon's Tamar Valley.  Sleeping up to four people, this 'tiny house', though simply furnished and equipped, caters to all your needs and offers you the chance to immerse yourself in nature and tranquility.  An enchanting getaway, with a camping pitch for two additional people if your group is larger.

General Info

An excellent escape from the hubbub of day to day life, a stay in the Beehive is a good reboot for the soul.  Set on farmland next to the River Tamar, it's perfectly situated for boating, kayaking, fishing and picnicking. And nearby there are miles of beautiful footpaths, not to mention beaches, village pubs and historic properties. This place really is conducive to switching off completely!

The Area Surrounding The Property / Accommodation

From the cabin you can do a lovely 1.5-2 hour circular walking route or a 30 minute meander will take you to the station and the local village, home to a pub, a post office, a pharmacy, a fish and chip shop and two mini supermarkets. The surrounding land is teeming with wildlife, from buzzards and badgers to foxes and deer, and after a day of exploring you can have a meal out at The Edgcumbe Hotel in Bere Alston or The Old Plough Inn at Bere Ferrers. A little further afield you will find the markets and restaurants of Tavistock, not to mention the Burrator Reservoir and historic Buckland Abbey.

Conditions of Rental
No smoking.  We are pet friendly (£5 per dog per night) but please be aware that there are free range ducks and chickens roaming around the farm so dogs will need to be kept under control. Due to additional Covid 19 safety measures, we ask all guests to check out by 9am on the day of departure to give time for a full deep clean before the next guests. Check in after 4pm on arrival day.  The owners live nearby should you need them.  Minimum stay 3 nights during July and August.  If you want to use the camping space outside the beehive, nightly cost for the pitch is £10, plus £5 per adult (£3.50 per child, children under 5 are free) per night.
