Chateau de Villette is an extravagantly stylish private home, formerly the playground of the French aristocracy. Recently redecorated and renovated, it now offers luxurious living and haute cuisine in an area of unspoilt natural beauty and heavenly tranquillity.
The Chateau lies in the stunning nature park of the Morvan Hills and the parkland and setting of the estate is said to be the work of André le Notre, who was famous for his designs of Versailles and Chantilly. The sumptuous rooms offer fine bed-linen, private bathrooms, period furniture, elaborate drapery, luxury beds, light and panoramic views, and the extensive grounds are full of terraces, gardens, woods and fields waiting to be explored. Dip in and out of the swimming pool, go walking in the countryside, take a cheese and wine picnic into the park or enjoy mouth-watering
The magnificent Burgundy countryside offers lots of opportunities for outdoor activities so it is a wonderful setting in which to stay in a chateau. There are several famous vineyards within easy driving distance where you can taste and purchase wines, the landscape is ideal for walking or cycling, and we can organise driven bird shooting and boar hunting. You could also play golf and horse ride, rummage for mushrooms and escargots, study the diverse wildlife or enjoy the scenery from the air. There are chateaux and Roman churches to visit, there are regular food markets in the picturesque neighbouring villages, you can shop for antiques in tiny shops, or you can savour the cuisine at some of the best restaurants in France.
