One-Off Feature

A unique Roman style holiday rental house in Andalucia with a private pool in a peaceful village setting.  With exclusive use of the house and year round heated pool, a large sun terrace with an outdoor kitchen, it’s an excellent choice for family villa holidays or group get togethers, and is well placed for exploring Andalucia’s ‘Golden Triangle’ of Seville, Cordoba and Granada.

General Info

The house is right on the square in the heart of the village of Las Pinedas.  It is a small and intimate village, with welcoming locals, and a peaceful atmosphere. The village has a bar where the locals meet to enjoy long Sunday lunches, play dominoes and catch up with one another.  The village church overlooks the square and if you are staying over Easter, then guests will enjoy the Easter Sunday procession which starts and ends at the church.  There is one weekend in the year when Las Pinedas bursts into life, and that is the annual fiesta weekend, usually the first weekend in August.  This peaceful village turns into a party village for three nights, with music and dancing, food and drink, and the square packed full of people!

The Area Surrounding The Property / Accommodation

Las Pinedas is well situated for exploring many well known and historic towns, not least Seville, Cordoba and Granada, Andalucia’s ‘Golden Triangle’.  Córdoba is 25 minutes from Las Pinedas, central Seville 1 hr 20 mins, Málaga 1.5 hrs, Granada 2 hrs (add 20 minutes for the Alhambra). Each of the great Moorish cities has its ancient wonders: Córdoba has the Mezquita, an immense mosque dating from the 8th century; Seville's Alcazar is a Moorish palace built for a Christian king with glorious Moorish gardens, the Alhambra at Granada is the last and most exquisite of all Moorish palaces. If you don’t want to use the car, then you can take a walk out of the back of the village to enjoy the wildflowers and birdlife around you.  Las Pinedas has one small shop which sells locally produced fruit and veg, cheese, ham etc, but for a wider range of shops and services head to the town of Carlota which is a 5 minute drive away.  La Carlota has a good range of butchers, bakers, greengrocers, pharmacies, banks etc, as well as a large Mercadona supermarket.  It is also home to a great range of cafes, bars and restaurants.

Accommodation Details

Interior Details
The house can sleep up to eight people in four en suite bedrooms, two doubles and two twins (and cots available on request).  Each bedroom is individually styled and has air con and heating, and a dressing area with built in wardrobes.  Three of the bedrooms are on the ground floor and open directly onto the pool colonnade, with the fourth room on the top floor.  The kitchen, indoor dining area and living room are also on the ground floor making the house accessible for wheelchair users.  The kitchen is well equipped, and there’s a large spanish oak dining table, and a comfortable lounge with seating for everyone.  The lounge has a large smart TV and a DVD player, and the house has a fast wifi connection.

Exterior Details
The large private pool is the centerpiece of the villa and it is heated between September and June (no need for heating during the hot summer months!) so you can use it all year round.  If you are staying with small children, access to the pool can be restricted so you can keep everyone safe.  You can lounge in the sun around the pool, or under the colonnade in the shade when it’s too hot.  Also on this level is a Moroccan dining area which is in the shade for most of the day.  There is a large roof terrace with a brick built BBQ, pizza oven, dining area, sunbathing area, and a covered area for those who like the shade.

Conditions of Rental
As the house is located in a quiet rural Spanish village, it is not suitable for late night activity or parties.  Minimum stay in July and August is 7 nights.  Shorter stays are sometimes available out of season.  This part of Spain is an ideal year round location as the temperature remains very pleasant even through the winter months (and the pool is available for guests all year round).  Registration number: VTAR/CO/00223.
