One-Off Feature

This charming croft on Easdale Island on the West Coast of Scotland is the ultimate getaway - a perfect escape for couples, friends and families looking for peace and quiet, stunning beaches and coastline and wonderful birdlife.  An exceptional retreat.

General Info

Built in the 1800's the cottage has been designed to reflect the island’s slate-quarrying heritage. Easdale is a very friendly island and you can be assured a warm welcome.  The Puffer Bar and Restaurant is just a two minute walk from the cottage and serves great homemade food.

The Area Surrounding The Property / Accommodation

The little island of Easdale is 16 miles from Oban, known as the gateway to the isles.  This is truly one of the most stunning parts of the world, and there’s no shortage of places to explore.  On the way to Easdale you’ll cross the world famous Clachan Bridge over the Atlantic.  Carrying on to Seil, enjoy spectacular views over to Scarba and Jura.  There are a variety of local hostelries in the vicinity where you can enjoy home cooked food and try some Scottish whiskies!  Easdale Island is the smallest permanently inhabited island in the Inner Hebrides and was once the heart of Scotland’s slate mining industry.  The island is home to a Folk Museum which tells the story of the local community.  Easdale is also host to the world Stone Skimming Championships!  For keen birdwatchers, you couldn’t be in a better place.  This is truly a place for walkers too - wonderful walks straight from the back garden taking you to spectular old slate mine quarry pools.

Getting There & Local Amenities

Getting There:
You can get as far as Seil by road, and then you will need to catch the small passenger ferry for the five minute crossing to Easdale.  It’s then just 300 yards to the cottage - you’ll be given a wheelbarrow to transport your luggage!
